the practice conducts an iterative investigation into western iconography. initiated 2014. oil pastel over acrylic produces autonomous chromatic relationships through deliberate layering. the cowboy figure is recontextualized through rogue colorist logic. gendered chromatic bias is identified and subverted. the classification of specific hues as "feminine" is rejected as an inherited cultural designation rather than a chromatic fact. western motifs are positioned within a contemporary americana framework. the kansas studio functions as the primary site of this ongoing formal inquiry.
